A renovated Chinese mansion and warehouses on the banks of the Chao Phrya River. The original site was developed in 1850 when it became a major steamship terminal and eventual arrival point of the Chinese diaspora. The “1919” in the name refers to the year Thailand’s prominent Wanglee Thai-Chinese family acquired the site. Today, Lhong 1919 is one of Bangkok’s latest lifestyle shopping and dining attractions and likewise brings to life the rich trading and cultural heritage shared by Thailand and China.
How to get there: Take BTS SkyTrain to Saphan Taksin Station. Adjacent the station is Sathorn Pier from where you can catch a free shuttle boat that travels to and from the site.
